The
Scottish Exhibition
+ Conference
Centre (SECC)
has a webcam
that I can
control. Move
the sliders
on the scroll
bars and the
camera will
move from
side to side,
up and down
... move the
slider to
the right
to zoom in
and out.
The little
camera to the lower left will capture the screen at the time you click
it. |

| My
friend John knows I am (nearly) always sitting in front of an Internet
enabled computer, and warned me that he'd be at the SECC at a specified
time, and he'd wave to me if I promised to be there.
True to his
word and right on time, John rode up on his bicycle and waved to me ... |
|
| ...
and rode around the kiosk a couple times in case I was late.
Well, it
doesn't have great image quality, but that isn't the point exactly, now
is it? |
|
It's
sort of a leap of faith to know that yer American pen-pal is watching from
across the ocean, so I used the little camera to confirm that I really am
always in front of my monitor ... |
|
| But
then, he said he'd be there for five minutes, and doesn't it seem like a
very long time after riding around the kiosk a few times and it's such a
warm sunny day ... and a little rest is in order ... |
|
| ...
until the allotted time has passed, then on with the day. |
