As
is so often the case, there are multiple ways to find out what size
your image is, but not all methods are available to everyone.
For
example, I use the Windows XP operating system. When I single-click
on the file name, or simply place the cursor over the file name,
a message box pops up with the pixel dimensions stated ... as shown
below: |
|
|
Too easy! Your
operating system
may not be so
cooperative. Here
are a couple more
options for finding
this information
... |
| Another option
would be to open
the file in question
in Netscape -
in some versions
the size will
be clearly stated
in the title bar:
|
|
| YAY! Still
easy. But perhaps
you don't have
Netscape or your
version doesn't
show this information.
Read on, there
is yet another
option ... |
|
|
|
Internet
Explorer doesn't provide the information so immediately, but there
is still a way to find out. Open the file in IE, right click on
the image and chose the option Properties from the dialog box that
pops up. |
|
Within the list of information called "Properties" are
the Dimensions, in this case 600X450.
|
 |
| I use Adobe
Photoshop, it
will tell me the
picture size if
I ask it thus:
|
 |
|
And
it will tell me in pixels and inches or whatever I ask of it, but
that's perhaps more information than you want to know just now ...
I hope
this is useful. |
