Tim and Michele gave me this enormous cool-looking pumpkin early in October. It looked marvelous on my porch ... until the squirrel drilled this hole in it.

It looked like this when I came home for lunch ...

... it looked like this when I got home from work. The hole is now big enough for a squirrel to climb in, and the pumpkin is plenty big enough for an entire squirrel family. A little slimy for a home, but does a squirrel mind that?
Earlier in the week Mom's pretty little japanese maple is changing colors.
I took some home today to photograph their great colors ...
... and their fine delicate shapes.
Leaves that look like feathers.
