I
walked up to the top of the viaduct to get a good look at the powerful
sky, illuminated by the lowering sun.
Here is the
row of matching brick houses, the last in the line is mine ... a flying
wedge of blue sky drags the clearing behind it. |
 |
| Attention
to the sky drew my eye up to this enormous bird - the Turkey Vulture (cathartes
aura), pretty common in this area. They can span up to 6', but I'd
guess this character wasn't wider than 5 ... |
 |
| Returning
my attention to the road, the low light paints a lovely warm light, made
more saturated by the dark backdrop. |
 |
West
Road, facing
east ... ending
at the river
just past
that last
lightpost
... |
|
| Slightly
south, looking out over the town. The trees have filled in so well the houses
are barely visible. |
 |
| The
reason for the viaduct, a few of the sets of rail tracks ... |
go
to May
20, or
back to 2003 |
