I walked up to the top of the viaduct to get a good look at the powerful sky, illuminated by the lowering sun.

Here is the row of matching brick houses, the last in the line is mine ... a flying wedge of blue sky drags the clearing behind it.

Attention to the sky drew my eye up to this enormous bird - the Turkey Vulture (cathartes aura), pretty common in this area. They can span up to 6', but I'd guess this character wasn't wider than 5 ...
Returning my attention to the road, the low light paints a lovely warm light, made more saturated by the dark backdrop.

West Road, facing east ... ending at the river just past that last lightpost ...

Slightly south, looking out over the town. The trees have filled in so well the houses are barely visible.
The reason for the viaduct, a few of the sets of rail tracks ...

go to May 20, or back to 2003
