This is the window facing east - when she looked out the north facing window Cora saw a row of pigeons on the wire overhead and she is really excited about finding birds out there now. She found this view disappointing, although I like it very well.

When I started to strip the wallpaper I found that the surface for part of that wall wasn't plaster as I'd expected. It's a sort of paneling with a wood-printed surface. The paper came off readily, if not easily, with hot water and a sharp scraper. It turns out that the wall was added in order to create the closet and the built-in dresser ... you might be able to see the original wallpaper on the plaster wall where the top drawer is out.
This is what the top layer of paper looks like - it's easy to read some strange stuff into the imagery, but I took it down because it's in poor shape, and of course i'm not really a fan of wallpaper.
Here's the paper underneath - cute cute cute.
Making good progress - it's plaster to the right of the dresser. It doesn't appear to have ever been painted, maybe the original wallpaper was stripped off for the cute little animals paper?
Continued progress ...
Paper removed, undersurface washed, and crown molding pulled off. Ready for patching.
It didn't take the cats any time at all to get used to having the bed upstairs ... Jake had so much trouble adjusting to the initial move - from West road to Elm street - but he's OK now.
Another photo of the tub.
The bathroom ... I found an amaryllis bulb for half price after the holidays ... it grew and bloomed in about a week. The bathroom must have good conditions for flowers ...
