Spring,
the grass
starts to
grow, and
I need to
think about
getting a
lawn mower
... I thought
I would resent
mowing, but
it turns out
that I really
don't mind.
It's sort
of satisfying
to tidy up
the yard that
way ... let's
see if it
lasts through
the summer.

|
| There
are peonies
and iris and
day lilies in
the border along
the driveway.
I've been taking
the grass out
of that section,
moved one of
the epimediums
from West Road,
and hope to
move a few more
things over
here as the
spring moves
ahead. |
 |
| Here's
the fence around
the back yard,
Andy will take
it out and put
up a privacy
fence between
the dog run
and my yard.
Eventually the
sidewalk along
the back of
the house will
have to come
out and the
yard will have
to be graded
away from the
house. |
|
|
| Roselyn's
tall purple
irises were
the first to
bloom this spring
- also daffodils
and tulips at
the near end
of the border.
You can see
Andy's privacy
fence in progress,
leaning against
the existing
fence ... and
in place in
the picture
below. |
 |
| I
came home from
work to find
the fence along
the property
line gone, and
the new privacy
fence where
the dogs hang
out. What a
difference!
Andy has offered
to take the
rest of the
fence out as
a favor to me,
which I eagerly
accepted, I
got out the
pliers and detached
the chain link
as best I could
... |
 |
| By
the next day
the fence posts
and gates will
be gone. I'm
chopping out
turf to make
garden plots,
sort of a habit
of mine. |
