| Probably the summer of
1962 - Sara would be about 3. Dad had taken up photography
as a more serious hobby, and this series shows some of his
experiments. I would be seven, Diane would have just turned
10 - the parakeet is mine ... I especially like the "candid"
shot with the telephone (above, right). It isn't likely that
phone was hooked up to the wall out there in the back yard

| Portraits. Dad very kindly
did not make us look into the sun ... he had us pose on the
picnic table (Sara, above left and lowest right, Diane below
left) or in a hammock - that's me in the picture below, right.
